Hace unos días varios lectores se preguntaban si había motores de la Segunda Guerra Mundial que podían ser mantenidos y reparados, siendo la respuesta positiva. Actualmente hay empresas que almacenan repuestos y reparan algunos motores, como el Rolls Royce Merlin, R-2830, R-1830 y el Allison V-1710. Por ello algunos cazas restaurados (Yak-9, MiG-3, Zero, Il-2...) utilizan uno de éstos en vez del original.
Hace unas semanas el dueño de una de estas empresas anunció que la vendía, y puso en internet una detallada lista de los repuestos y máquinas de los que dispone:

Se le está montando un motor Allison para que pueda volar al ser refrigerado por líquido y tener casi las mismas dimensiones
Es ingeniería para poder colocar todos los sistemas en el morro
