Este libro lo tenía entre una lista de compras futuras, pero al verlo por poco más de 1 € en formato Kindle me animé a comprarlo. Según la introducción, su autor Hans Schäufler comandó un cazacarros Jagdpanther, y el libro ofrece una descripción de las tácticas del Ejército Alemán en su retirada frente al avance soviético.
Tras terminar su lectura, tengo la impresión de que el título simplemente no es correcto. El autor era un oficial de enlace del Panzer Regiment 35 (4 Panzer Division), pero no un comandante de Jagdpanther. Tampoco tiene muchos detalles sobre tácticas de panzer. La obra son unas memorias del autor donde describe el colapso del frente en Danzig y cómo evita caer en manos rusas cruzando el Báltico en una embarcación. Su visión me ha parecido más honesta que la de otros autores; por una vez los soviéticos avanzan sorprendiendo a los alemanes y realizan emboscadas, y la superioridad aérea rusa es indiscutible.
